Extended Board and Puppy-Sitting!
We know that timing can be tricky! While we very much appreciate families picking up their puppies as they are ready at 8 weeks of age, we do want to make it easy for families who would appreciate more flexibility.
How long will we take care of your puppy?
We will happily board puppies up to the 16 week of age. We do not currently board adult dogs.
Your puppy will continue working on their skills, vaccinations and socialization. Need your puppy "babysat" even after taking him or her home? We'll happily babysit your puppy so you can go away worry free.
What does it cost?
Extended board is $100/week, billed by the full week even if your puppy stays slightly less.
When can we drop off and pickup?
Drop offs and pickups BY APPOINTMENT:
Fridays 10-1pm and 6-7pm
Saturdays 10-1pm
Monday 10-1pm and 6-7pm.
We are not able to offer partial weeks of board. This is a NEW service we are trialing, so forgive the lack of flexibly while we stick with what we know we can manage.
Do you offer this service year round?
Please be aware that we can only offer this service during certain times of the year. If it's a busy time, we do reserve the right to suspend this service entirely and in that case selected puppies do need to be picked up on their "pickup date". Thank you for understanding that we want to make sure that every single dog and pup gets amazing care and this can require adjusting our services.
What is included?
Weather Dependent Doggie Door/Outdoor training
We continue your puppy's potty training by continuing with peepad/paper training. If the weather is cooperative, we also teach your puppy to use the doggie door. With this skill they learn to LEAVE the indoor space and autonomously take care of "buisness" outside.
Extended Play and Socialization
Your puppy will have the opportunity to continue socializing with age appropriate pals which means learning social cues, growing in confidence and feeling more comfortable with their future dog interactions.
If your puppy has been home with you and has lost their social skills, we'd suggest a minimum of a 2 week return to us so that they can work through their anxiety to the point of enjoyment again.
Bath and Grooming Practice
Your puppy will have a weekly grooming and bath time. We'll trim their face, bum and nails. We will work on building patience and tolerance for these activities and we'll make it fun!
Quarantine Maintained
We ONLY offer puppy sitting to families who have MAINTAINED their puppies in quarantine. If you have chosen to walk your puppy on a side walk, taken puppy classes, put it down somewhere other than YOUR house and yard, please do NOT request that we puppy sit for you. You are risking our puppies if you are not honest about this. Since we are a quarantine facility, your unvaccinated puppy is safe with us.
Age Appropriate Vaccinations & Deworming
If your puppy is due for any vaccinations or deworming while they stay with us we will take care of it for you. Vaccinations are $50 and will include parvo, distemper, adenovirus and parainfluenza. If your puppy needs it's vaccinations we'll ensure it is dewormed again as part of this treatment.
Seperation Training
A puppy who can tolerate some "alone time" is well on their way to both being easier to manage for you and a better-adjusted dog, lacking "seperation anxiety". Your puppy will spend some time each day with dogs, food and other distractions, but separated from us and other dogs to build resiliency and their ability to manage their feelings when not in your company.
